A Public Archive for Venice, Washington University Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts (GUEST CRITIC)

The studio, "A New Public Archives of Venice", prompted students to envision a new home for a publicly accessible copy of the State Archives of Venice. The program of the building included public reading rooms, meeting rooms, and lecture halls resolved as an addition to Louis Kahn's unbuilt Palazzo dei Congressi. The studio was lead by Robert McCarter and the jury included Carlos Jimenez, Kathryn Dean, Igor Marjanovic, Heather Woofter, Ian Caine, Anna Ives and Phil Holden.
