Masonry Design/Build Competition at New Jersey Institute of Technology (JURY MEMBER)

The goal of the competition was to speculate about the future of masonry construction. Students were challenged to rethink space typologies and to include in their constructions elements from nature: i.e. sunlight, moonlight, air, gravity, or water. Constructions were judged based on three key criteria: tectonics/structure, technique, and representation.

Jurors included: Caryn Halifax, Gernot Reither, Jesse Lecavalier, Michael Schmerbeck, Alan Chimacoff, Will Prince, Carlos Jimenez, and Georgeen Theodore.
